I paint to improve my audiences self-esteem through exposing my own vulnerability in both mind and body. I connect with my practice through each stage of creating a painting. Participating in painting composition has led to taking personal control of the camera and direction. In doing this I am able to subvert the assumption of mainstream pornography and present the imagery as amateur, not to be confused with reality pornography.
Through my practice and curation I attempt to highlight the prominent sexual repression enforced by social media platforms and establishments such as art galleries that criminalise sex-positive creators. These guidelines that are intended to censor lawful creation only aid in fueling anti-pornographic feminists, leading to sexual expression being blanketed as anti-feminist.
